70+ Essays
We have compiled both the study plan and personal statements which show what kind of essays NIIED prefer. The patterns are clear.
50+ Recommendation Letters
We have also gotten access to the recommendation letters which show what information the recommenders need to write about.
Level 1 – Guideline Workshop
Most students get disqualified not because they’re unqualified — but because they misunderstood the basic instructions. They miss details like formatting rules, forget to include required documents, or submit unofficial translations. Some even get rejected for using staples or submitting incomplete forms.
In this level, you'll learn how to read and interpret the official NIIED guideline properly, avoid hidden disqualification traps, and build a clean, compliant application from the start.
Level 2 – Track & University Selection
Many students get rejected before they even start — simply because they applied to the wrong track or chose universities that would never consider their profile. Some don’t understand the difference between Embassy vs. University Track, or they select majors that don’t match their academic background.
In this level, you’ll learn how to choose the correct track and shortlist the right universities and departments that actually increase your chances of being selected.
Level 3 – Letters of Recommendation (LOR) + LOI
One of the most common reasons for rejection is a weak or generic Letter of Recommendation. Many students either write it themselves poorly or submit letters that don’t align with what GKS committees want to see.
In this level, you’ll access past winners’ LORs, understand the right format and tone, and get a personalized review to ensure your LOR strengthens — not weakens — your application.
Bonus for paid members: You’ll also learn how to secure a Letter of Intent (LOI) — a document from a Korean professor at your intended university confirming that your profile aligns with their department’s requirements. You’ll gain access to successful LOIs from previous GKS awardees as references.
LOIs have been shown to significantly boost an applicant’s chances of being selected. In some cases, the only difference between two similarly qualified candidates was that one submitted an LOI — and that applicant was the one chosen.
Level 4 – Study Plan
Most students treat the Study Plan like a filler document — they copy from others or write vague goals that show no research or clarity. Reviewers can tell. A weak study plan often breaks an otherwise strong application.
In this level, you’ll learn how to structure a study plan with clear objectives, timelines, and alignment with your chosen university — using real examples from past scholars and detailed feedback on your drafts.
Level 5 – Personal Statement
Applicants often write their personal statement like a CV or life story, without strategy or connection to GKS values. Many fail to answer the prompt, use clichés, or forget to show genuine motivation.
In this level, you’ll analyze successful personal statements and receive step-by-step guidance to write your own — authentic, well-structured, and tailored to what reviewers actually look for.
Level 6 – Form Preparation
Every year, dozens of students get disqualified for small errors: writing in the wrong format, using the wrong ink color, skipping signatures, or submitting documents in the wrong order.
In this level, you’ll go through each form one by one, learn how to complete them correctly, and follow a proven system to organize your documents and avoid disqualification due to preventable mistakes.
Level 7 – Interview Strategy
Many students freeze during the GKS interview or give vague, memorized answers. They don’t understand the types of questions asked or how to show confidence without sounding arrogant.
In this level, you’ll watch video breakdowns, learn effective frameworks to structure your answers, and discover exactly what Korean interviewers look for — even when the questions seem simple.
Level 8 – One-on-One Mock Interview Training
Students often don’t practice for the interview, thinking it's casual. But performance matters. Poor communication, rambling answers, or lack of preparation can lead to rejection even after your documents are strong.
In this level, you’ll experience a live, simulated GKS interview, receive personalized feedback on your delivery and answers, and walk into the real interview with clarity and confidence.
